Message Because the new Z and the old Z have two different purposes in life.
The 350Z is and will be a car for the masses, one that can be had for a very reasonable price and be to Nissan what the Celica is to Toyota, except for Nissan will have pushed the performance envelope with the new Z and chart into BMW MZ3, Audi TT, Honda S2000 and Boxster S performance territory (The new Z is really an answer to these four cars for Nissan, I think Nissan has realized how much it has been missing out).
Now for the Z32, and I am describing mostly the TT. It is placed more in the exotic sports car crowd, but with reasonable production and pricing. Nice ones are getting rare and lots of money can be brought in for mint ones, trust me, I know :). But the Z32 TT will out perform this new Z, it was your 5.0sec 0-60, mid 13s 1/4 mile car that shone on the track (All those IMSA wins can't be belittled by even the finest, Porsche and Ferrari). The Z32's talents weren't ever really seen in acceleration (I personally don't think a tenth of a second means too much, but thats b/c I don't drag), however the handling (this is important!) is where it humbles all Porsche 911 and Ferraris. Drive these cars, you'll see how damn close the Z32 comes to the new ones(Still kicks the 911 as far as I'm concerned except for those sweet Turbos, Ferrari F355 and 360), and betters the ones of its day (Porsche 964, 993 (except turbo), Ferrari 512TR and 348s, Lotus S4-S).
There you have it, my synopsis of the purpose of life of the new Z and the Z32. This is my opinion of course and based on all the information presented to me.
So I will never replace my Z32 with anything but a more mint Z32 in the long run. I might sell mine soon, but it is priority to get another one eventually. As for the new Z, it may become an excellet beater, however, a Porsche Boxster S is beggining to look really, really nice......

Take it easy,

Salah
